HOOKS - Ruth D. (nee Clausen), 84, formerly of River Edge, NJ and Naples, FL on January 14, 2006 at the Broward Nursing Center, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Claus and Therese (nee Harve) Clausen, her father was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for gallantry in action during the Spanish American War. Beloved wife of the late William E. Hooks, loving mother of William G. Hooks and his wife Elaine, Robert J. Hooks and his wife Gail, and Randolph Hooks; cherished grandmother of Mark, Lisa and David Hooks, and Matthew and Benjamin Hooks; great-grandmother of Zachary and Aiden Hooks. Dear cousin of Lillian Minor. "Ruthie," as she was known to all, always had a smile and touched everyone with her warmth, her energy and her generous spirit. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. The family also wishes to advise her many friends that Ruthie was cremated, and arrangements are pending for a burial at sea where she will join her beloved husband.
