Ruby Lee White, 85, of Cherokee, died Monday, May 3, 2004. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Harris Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery, Cherokee, Ala. The Rev. Jeff Davis and the Rev. Greg Woodard will officiate.Mrs. White was a native of Colbert County and a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Collum; and her parents, Wheeler and Mae Thompson.She is survived by her husband, Doyle White, of Cherokee, Ala.; her sons, William L. Collum and wife, Joyce, of Florence, Ala., Charles W. Collum and wife, Brenda, of Sheffield, Ala.; her daughter, Jane Woodard and husband, Roy, of Cherokee, Ala.; stepsons, Earl Dean White and wife, Carol, of Cherokee, Ala., Wayne White and wife, Pat, of Athens, Ala.; stepdaughter, Dottie Berryman and husband, Fred, of Killen, Ala.; brothers, H.D. Thompson, of Barton, Lacy Owen Thompson, of Muscle Shoals, Oscar Thompson, of Cherokee; and sister, Edna Ogletree, of Sheffield, Ala.; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.Memorials may be made to Harris Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery or Library Fund or to the charity of your choice.Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee, is directing.
