PETERS , Rodney William May 20, 1944 - May 8, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family of Rodney William Peters announces his passing on May 8, 2009 just short of his 65th birthday. Rod passed away peacefully at the High River Hospital after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sharron (Doering) of forty years, his son Sean, daughter-in-law Nancy, grandson Jack and daughter Sharney along with numerous family and friends. Rod was born in Stoughton, Saskatchewan and grew up in Canmore, Alberta. Throughout his life Rod was active in the various communities he lived (both in Southern and Central Alberta) as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Lions Club. Rod enjoyed photography, making wine, forging handmade knives and riding his Harley. His love, compassion, wit and caring have made this world a better place. Cremation took place at Parklawn Crematorium, High River. A celebration of Rod's life will be held Saturday, May 23, 2009 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion - Three Sisters Branch No. 3, Canmore, Alberta. Friends and family are encouraged to bring a story about Rod to share - preferably one that would have made him laugh.
