WHENHAM, Robin Elizabeth (nee Pratt) Robin Whenham, beloved wife of Donn and mother of T.O. (Tricia), passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the age of 56 years after a courageous battle with cancer. The oldest of seven children, Robin is survived by her mother Milli Pratt, siblings Gary Pratt (Penny), Hilary Stewart, Jamie Pratt, Judy Owad, Marylyn Pelletier (Philip), and Ward Pratt (Sharon), and twenty-one nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Bill Pratt. Robin was born in Calgary, raised in Springbank, and spent her life in and around Calgary, finally finding a home in Cochrane. Her life was shaped by horses, but mostly as a means of impacting the lives of others. As the director of the Calgary Stampede Show Riders, a teacher and examiner with The Canadian Pony Club and 4-H, a judge and clinician throughout Canada, and the long-time manager of the Centaur Saddlery Shop, Robin tirelessly shared her special abilities to educate, mentor, guide, encourage, and touch with humor, sensitivity, inspiring dedication, and a relentless desire to see everyone do their best. Whether as the founder of the World Championship Blacksmith Competition or as a committed lifelong volunteer, Robin had contagious passion, inspiring vision, and a willingness to do what needed to be done - whether it was evident or not. Through all she did, she never sought recognition, and, to the frustration of those who loved her, never had any idea of the number of lives she impacted. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 15, at 2:00 p.m. at the All Saints Anglican Church, 404 - 4 Avenue N., Cochrane.
