Robert-W. Anderson, born in 1930, spouse of Nancy Travis, son of Gustaf-W and Everlyn, father of Mass, Medway, Anne, Thomas, Liverpool, Kathryn and David, died on July 21, 2001 at 71 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
ROBERT W. ANDERSON of VestalRobert W. Anderson, 71, of Vestal, passed away July 21, 2001. He was predeceased by his father, Gustaf W. Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Travis) Anderson; two sons and daughters-in-law, David B. and Kathryn Anderson, Liverpool, Thomas R. and Anne Anderson, Medway, Mass.; five grandchildren, Steven, Richard, Lauren, Jacqueline, and Benjamin; his mother, Everlyn Anderson. Mr Anderson attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Syracuse University, and SUNY Binghamton and held a Master of Science Degree. He was a Certified Public Accountant, and held positions as a partner with the firm of Coopers and Lybrand (Now Price-Waterhouse-Coopers), and was treasurer and chief financial officer of RKB Enterprises, Inc., of Elmira. He was an avid amateur photographer and a member of the Roberson and Binghamton Camera Clubs. He had a life long deep interest in the Boy Scouts Movement and after serving as a Scoutmaster of Troop 221 in Vestal for 27 years, he also served in various offices for scouting; including Council Commissioner, Council President, member of the Executive Board, scout training chairman, investment chairman, area camp visitation team and area III Chairman for endowment developement. In addition, he was a member and past president of the Vestal Rotary Club, past president and member of the Board of Capabilities, Inc.; past member of the board of Vestal Hills Memorial Park Association, Inc. For his service to the youth, he has been recognized as Young Man of the Year by the Junior Chamber and received the Silver Beaver from the Boy Scouts. He was also a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and Boy Scout James E. West Fellow. Memorial services will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. from Vestal United Methodist Church, 328 Main Street, Vestal with Reverend's Mary Rickets and Gary Doupe, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main St., Endicott, Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to The Restricted Endowment Fund or the Baden-Powell Council, BSA P.O. Box 66, Southview Station, Binghamton, N.Y. 13903.
