Robert L. Johnson, a resident of Ormond Beach since 1979, passed away on September 25, 2009. Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, at the Ormond Beach Chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Homes, 548 N. Nova Rd. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 p.m. until time of the service. Robert was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 7, 1930 to the late Simon and Hanna Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal from 1952 to 1954 and moved to Florida in 1955. In 1999, he retired from General Electric where he had worked as an Electronics Technician for 27 years. Robert was preceded by his wife of 44 years, Eathel M. Johnson, and survived by his sister, Judy Peters, Landcaster, PA; brothers, Roland Johnson, Geigertown, PA, Simon Johnson, Quarryville, PA; son and daughter in law, Robert and Ashley Johnson, Jacksonville, FL; daughters by marriage, Denise Arnold and her husband, Jim, Blairsville, GA and Darlene Novak, Mantua, OH; grandchildren, Jack Johnson, Danny Novak, Jenny Brock, Julie Ortiz, Jacquelene Arnold, Jeanelle Arnold and five great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home Ormond Beach.
