ROBERT KIRK JOHNSON "BOB" PORTAGE, IN Robert "Bob" Kirk Johnson, age 52, a resident of Portage, IN passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009. He was born on July 2, 1956 in Gary, IN the son of Glenn and Gloria Johnson. Robert was a 1974 graduate of Portage High School and worked as a Teamster of the Union Local # 142. He was a devoted Christian and member of Portage Community Bible Church. He was an avid horseshoe player who loved and enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to all. Robert is survived by his loving family; children: Catherine, Jennifer, and Robert "Robby" Johnson, Jr.; grandchildren: Tyreese, Andrea, and Tyler; mother, Gloria Johnson; sisters: Linda, Dalene, and Cindi; brothers: Alan and Glenn, and other loving family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn A. Johnson. A visitation for Robert Johnson will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm on Tuesday with Pastor Jim Thompson and Pastor Wayne Vanderweir, officiating. Cremation will follow.
