Robert Henry "Bob" Johnson, 84, Crystal River, formerly of Inverness, died July 28, 2010, at Seven Rivers Hospital. Born in Strykersville, NY, on Sept. 18, 1925, to the late Oscar H. and Eva (Gilpin) Johnson, he came to Citrus Co. from New Jersey. He was a retired Regional Sales Manager for the Mack Truck Company with 36 years of service. Bob was a member of the Hernando Church of The Nazarene, where he served as an usher; one of the founders of "Friends of The Blind;" ambassador for Southeastern Guide Dogs; state director of the "Retreads" motorcycle group. He loved riding his Harley and, most of all, helping people in all stations of life. Bob was a member of the Masonic order for 60 years, being affiliated with Mt. Vernon Lodge No. 263, Java Village, NY; Scottish Rite, Valley of Buffalo, and Ismailia Shrine Temple, Buffalo.He is survived by his wife, Vivien Johnson; his three children, Robert Johnson II, Inverness, Carol Haight and husband John, Vero Beach, FL, and Robin Berent, San Jose, CA; two stepdaughters, Judy and Susan Hibbard, both of New York; Vivien's children, Stephen Bucher and wife Patra, Charleston, SC, Rand Bucher and wife, Melinda, Findlay, OH, Susan Morvay and husband, Randy, Lima, OH, Jane Chew and husband, Don, Cape May Courthouse, NJ; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two wives, Betty Walker Johnson and Virginia Hibbard Johnson.Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Aug. 2, at 2:00 p.m. from the Hernando Church of The Nazarene with Pastor Randy Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness. In lieu of flowers, memorials requested to Southeastern Guide Dogs, 4210 77th Street East, Palmetto, FL 34221, or the Hernando Church of The Nazarene.
