MECHANICVILLE Robert E. Morin, 75, of Warsaw Street, died Wednesday evening, December 22, 2004 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in West Warwick, R.I., he grew up in Waterford, N.Y., son of the late Joseph and Regina Pride Morin. He operated Morin's Mobil on So. Central Ave. in Mechanicville for a number of years, and later worked as the chief mechanic for the City of Mechanicville Dept. of Public Works. Earlier years, he worked for Grand Union Warehouse of Waterford and was a long distance livestock and freight hauler for Fred Graziano and others. During the Korean War, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, was stationed for some time at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where he was an admiral's chauffeur. A lifetime member and former office of the Peters-Purcell ITAM Post 21 of Mechanicville, he also worked at the weekly games at the Post. Bob would supervise the garage operations for Kearney Auto Shop in Mechanicville, when needed, and was a faithful and trusted member of the staff of the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home in Mechanicville for over 20 years. He was a member of the Mechanicville Democratic Club and St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Stillwater. His wife, Carmella Marmillo Morin died this past September 13. Survivors include his two daughters, Marie Morin of Stillwater and Roberta Morin of Mechanicville; along with two grandsons, Roert Fusco of Roxbury, Mass. and Mark S. Fusco of Schuylerville. Also a sister, Claire Hayden of Troy; and a brother, Al Morin of Fla. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Lung Assoc., or St. Peter's Church. Arrangements by the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home.
