Obituary of Robert-E. Johnson


Robert E. "Bob" Johnson, 73, husband of Bobbie Jean Taylor Johnson, of 116 Sherwood Drive, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at his home. Born in Laurens, he was a son of the late Stanley Conway and Annie Rollings Johnson. He was a retired employee of Hamiltons and was a former employee of the Employment Office, a U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran, a graduate of Presbyterian College, and was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Jean Taylor Johnson of the home; two sons, Tony R. Johnson of Greenwood and Greg Johnson and wife, Adele, of Greer; a brother, Conway Johnson of Laurens; two sisters, Ruth White of Easley and Martha Willis of Laurens; and two grandchildren, Taylor and Anna Grace Johnson. He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley L. Johnson and a sister, Mildred J. Clark. Graveside services will be held on today, Nov. 17, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Charlie Short. The family will be at the home, 116 Sherwood Drive. Memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 101 Richards St., Laurens, SC 29360 or to Hospice of Laurens County, P.O. Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325. - Kennedy Mortuary in charge.
