WATERFORD, N.Y. Robert Davis, 67, of Waterford, died Sunday, May 14, 2006 at the Samaritan Hospital. Born and educated in Elkton, Md., he was the son of the late Harry W. and Olive Boardwater Davis. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Betty Jennesses Davis. Robert was retired from the Chrysler Corp. in Newark, Del., where he had worked as a machine operator for 25 years, retiring in 1985. He was also a former Boy Scout leader in Del. Prior to being employed at Chrysler Corp., Mr. Davis was a volunteer fireman and deputy Sheriff in Elkton, Md. for many years. He is survived by one son, William R. Davis and one daughter, Carolee Terry, both of Waterford; one adopted nephew, Robert W. Groff of Schoharie; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 58 Leversee Road (Rt. 40), Speigletown, N.Y. Calling hours will be held Wednesday afternoon from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
