Jones: Robert Cameron "Bob" - Passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family at the Douglas Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 15, 2003. Bob Jones, beloved husband of Joan, in his 86th year. Loving father of Robin (Bonnie), Bunny (Harry) Bremner and Joan (David) Klacko. Cherished Papa of Victory, Eileen, H.R., Katrina, Grant and Grace, and sadly missed by 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Bob was a school teacher in the Niagara area for 33 years, starting in a 1 room school house and retiring from the Co-operative Education area of Fort Erie Secondary School. During WWII, he participated in the last Calvary Division with the Canadian Armed Forces, and continued as the Service Officer with the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 71 in Fort Erie for many years receiving his Life Membership. Bob was also the Past Master of Fort Erie Lodge, A. F. & A. M.. Bob's efforts on behalf of the developmentally challenged living in Fort Erie provided the foundation for what is now Fort Erie Community Living. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave. Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9. Canon David Thomas will conduct services in the Benner Funeral Chapel on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family. Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 71 will conduct services in the chapel at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Palmer Lodge #375 A.F. & A.M. will conduct services on Wednesday evening at 7:30.
