->Morrison, Richard VictorRichard Victor Morrison, 97, died Oct. 22, 2012 in Bonita Springs, Fla. He had spent most of his life in Yonkers, NY. Richard (known as "Dick") was born on Aug. 1, 1915 at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY. His parents were Eleanor Sessions Morrison and Lewis Abrams Morrison.He is predeceased by his wife of almost 60 years, Jocelyn Keating and his brother, Lewis Morrison and sister, Molly Morrison Caulfield.He was the proud father of three daughters, (He told his wife Jackie: I want girls…no boys) Sandra Latora (Michael) in Harrison, NY, Patricia Ericson in Rolling Hills Estates, CA, and Molly Trahan in Lincoln, RI. Dick has seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Dick was to be drafted in 1943, so he enlisted in the Marines. He served in the South Pacific and ended in China where he was honorably discharged in June of 1946. After his service, Dick returned to work for O.S. Tyson Advertising where he became Executive Vice President. O.S. Tyson became Poppe Tyson, Inc, then D.M.B.&B. He retired from the McManus Group, Inc. in June, 1984. In 1980 Dick was named Agency Executive of the Year by the NY chapter of Business/Professional Advertising Association.Dick was an avid golfer (6 handicap at his best) with 8 holes-in-one to his credit. He and his family joined Knollwood Country Club in 1953. He was famous for playing all year round, regardless of the weather. One of his caddies remarked that when he was getting up one freezing winter morning, his father asked what he was doing. The caddie remarked-'oh I have to go, Mr. Morrison will be there." Dick's favorite saying was "Mind over matter' and his favorite book was Norman Vincent Peale's "The Power of Positive Thinking". Dick was President of Knollwood from 1973-1975 and was an honorary member until his death. A memorial celebration will be held in the near future to be announced.
