UntitledRICHARD WAYNE TODD1930 - 2009Richard Wayne Todd, 78, passed away August 19, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. He graduated from Montpelier High School and in 1949 joined the U. S. Navy before making Pensacola his home in 1950. Richard served 23 years in the U. S. Navy, including tours in Vietnam and the USS Forrestal in which he earned several medals including the bronze star. Richard retired after 16 years at NADEP. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.Richard was preceded in death by his first love of 47 years, Julie Humphreys Todd; parents Vinnie and Wayne Todd.Richard is survived by his loving wife Marie Humphreys Todd; children Joy Jackson (David), Jan Alverson, Bill Humphreys (Karri); daughter and godchild Julie Pastucha (Jeff) and Dave Alverson; his grandchildren Trevor (Angel), Roger (Chrissy), Sarah, Jeffrey, Kathryn, James, Jay, Lauren, David, Marie, Tre'; great-grandchild Haylee; sisters Lou Ann Todd and Helen Vandercook and numerous other relatives.A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 with Prayer Service beginning at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice in memory of Richard Wayne Todd.
