Funeral for Rev. Curtis Louis Davis, 80, of Decatur will be Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Usrey Funeral Home in Pell City. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Gardens in St. Clair County. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home. Mr. Davis died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2003, at his home. He was born July 17, 1923, in St. Clair County to Willie O. Davis and Emma Portwood Davis. He was owner of C & W Trading Post for 20 years, and was a resident of Decatur for 37 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a member of VFW and American Legion. Rev. Davis was a member and ordained minister of First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Daisy Davis; one son, Rev. Levernon Davis and wife Shirley Jean of Pell City; four daughters, Betty Bishop and husband Col. Chaplin James Blain of Trinity, Corlas Davis of Decatur, Mary Jane Mitchell and husband John A. of Morris, and Joan Carol Hill of Athens, Ga.; four brothers, Elbert Davis of Odenville, Henry Davis, Ray Davis, and Joe Dell Davis, all of Pell City; three sisters, Lila Mae Bishop of Ashville, and Margaret Reaves and Fannie Ruth Davis, both of Ragland; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
