Rachel Bertelle Walker, 75, departed this life at 8:29 a.m. Sunday, February 19, 2006, in Cox North. Rachel was the second child born to Thomas and Flora Norris on April 21, 1930, in Hunting Park, California. Rachel's passion was sewing and she worked as a tailor and seamstress most of her life. She professed a love for Christ at an early age and attended Christ United Methodist Church. She also held a membership in the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William V. Walker and three grandchildren. Rachel is survived by four brothers, Charles, Jesse, James and Joseph Norris three children, Paula Green, Rochelle "Rocky" Wisniewsky and Thomas Kapla three grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2006, in Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Kathy Osciel and Reverend Hank Foster officiating, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Pierce City Cemetery, Pierce City, Missouri. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. tonight, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
