Funeral for Queen Ester Davis, 88, of Hillsboro will be Friday, March 24, 2006, at noon at David Temple Primitive Baptist Church with Pastor Curtis Foster officiating and Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in The Davis Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Davis, who died Monday, March 20, 2006, was born Oct. 29, 1917, the youngest of 10 children, to the late Robert and Lucinda Eady Foster. At an early age, she confessed Christ at David Temple P.B. Church, where her membership remained until her death. She lived a life of unconditional love for both family and friends.On Sept. 3, 1938, Queen Ester was united in holy matrimony to the late Dale Locklayer Davis Sr., and to this union twelve children were born. One daughter, Sarah Hamilton (Harvey), preceded her in death.She leaves to cherish her memory seven sons, Dale Jr., George (Mildred), Charlie (Rose), Edward (Rhonda), Ricky (Queeanne), Danny (Marie), and Michael; four daughters, Verdale, Lucinda White (Willand), Laura Cayce, and Matilda Thompson (Ernest); one stepdaughter, La Murl Houston; one brother-in-law, Bernard Davis (Elvia); one sister-in-law, Annie Laura Williams; a godson, James Bowman (Mary Sue); and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great great-granddaughter; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
