Obituary of Peggy-Kay Smith


Peggy Kay Smith, 66, Seymour, passed away at 2:12 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana, Columbus. Mrs. Smith was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid 3. She was an executive assistant at Cummins Engine Co. and was a past member of the Business and Professional Women's group. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and being with her friends and family. Born March 23, 1941, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Alva and Edna Grider Reynolds, both of whom preceded her in death. On Aug. 5, 1978, at Nashville, Tenn., she married Billy Ray Smith, who survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Carla Scott (Greg) Lumbra, Astoria, Ore. She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Mills; a stepbrother, David Reynolds; and four stepsisters, Lucille Steward, Mildred Schmidt, Pansy Reynolds and Nellena Allman. The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch and the Rev. Jimmy Rodriguez will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery, Salem. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran High School, Camp Lakeview or the donor's choice. www.burkholderfuneralchapel.com
