KEEFE, DR. PAUL H., 93, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at the Imperial Point Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale. He was happily married to his wife Connie for more than 67 years, until she passed in August 2008. Dr. Keefe was an educator, having obtained his doctorate from the University of Miami, and held teaching and administrative positions with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools until retiring in 1979. He moved his family to the Miami area in 1953 from New England where he had been a radio announcer and station manager. He and his wife were residents of John Knox Village in Pompano Beach for the past 15 years. Dr Keefe was a very busy and productive retiree doing extensive volunteer work with organizations including Planet Ocean, Vizcaya, Historical Museum, Deering Estate, Barnacle, Recording for the Blind, Coral Gables House, and later Whitehall in Palm Beach. He is survived by their three children: Paul Keefe Jr., Cheryl Fuller, and Linda Leonard, of Miami, as well as eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Dr. Keefe was well-loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him and will be greatly missed.
