Patricia-Ann Williams, born in 1950, spouse of Ron Nelson, daughter of Bert and Sylvania, mother of Stacy and Robert, died on October 13, 2009 at 59 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Patricia Ann (Marrs) Williams, 59, passed peacefully into the presence of our loving Heavenly Father at 10:25 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Frankfort Care Center in West Frankfort, after a courageous battle with complications suffered from diabetes. Patricia was born April 2, 1950 in Herrin to Bert and Sylvania (Estridge) Marrs. Early in her life, she helped her family work in their strawberry farm. She graduated from West Frankfort community High School in 1968. She worked briefly as a nursing assistant and as a cashier at Mohr-Value. She also worked along side of her lifelong companion, Ron Nelson at Ron's Bicycle Shop in Johnston City. Thirty one years of companionship were filled with abundant and cherished memories together. She attended Harmony Free Will Baptist Church at West Frankfort for a number of years and recently attended the Gospel Mission Church in Johnston City. "Her passing leaves a tremendous void which will now be filled with wonderful, cherished memories. She has taught each of us to love. To know how to love is such an eternal gift. Thank you for teaching us." Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Robert Gardner of West Frankfort; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Hannah Gardner of West Frankfort, two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Glenda Marrs of West Frankfort, Jimmy and Sandra Marrs of Pittsburg; niece, Laura Marrs of West Frankfort; nephew, James Marrs and wife Kendra of Pittsburg; two aunts, Frances Hohenstein of Albany, TX., and Pauline Sailliez of West Frankfort; cousins, Janet Martin of Belleville, Susie Thomas, Joyce Karas of West Frankfort and Larry Marrs and wife Patsy of Johnston City. She was preceded in death by her parents; companion, Ronnie Nelson; two aunts, Eva Rose Willcoxson and Stella Mae Estridge. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2009 at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Larry Marrs officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be 11 a.m. til 2 p.m., on Friday at Pyle Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to West Frankfort Care Center or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
