Norma Jean Henderson, 78, Crothersville, passed away at 12:48 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Henderson worked as a beautician at Doc's Beauty Shop in Scottsburg until she was married and then stayed home and was a homemaker. She was a 1948 Scottsburg High School graduate, a member of First Baptist Church of Crothersville and was an avid quilter and enjoyed embroidering and reading. Born March 24, 1929, in Scott County, she was the daughter of Floyd and Ethel Carnine Meek. On Dec. 15, 1961 in Scott County, she married Joseph "Joe" Henderson, who preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Holly (Brian) Sweany, Crothersville, and Beth Herald, Jasper; two brothers, Russell (Jeannette) Meek, Crothersville, and Bernard (Francie) Meek, Indianapolis; and two grandchildren, Paul Sweany, Crothers-ville, and Joseph James "Joey" Herald, Jasper. She was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Meek, and a sister, Naomi Hall. The Rev. David Schill will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Home, Crothersville. Burial will take place at Crothersville Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
