Nira Jane Peters, 77, of Union City, Ind., passed away Thursday morning, May 5, 2011 at Pine Knoll Nursing Center, Winchester. She was born February 24, 1934 in Union City to the late George C. and Marna R. (Bubenmyre) Crawford. She was a homemaker.Jane leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Barbara L. Niswonger of Greenville, Ohio; a brother, Phillip C. Crawford (wife, Sue) of Winchester; and two grandchildren, Sabrina Sue and Zane E. Peters. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Christopher A. Peters, Sr. in 1996; a son, Christopher A Peters, Jr. in 1989; four sisters, Martha Crawford, Lida Belle Melia, Connie L. Hill and Iris June Gardner; and a brother, Leroy Crawford.A service to celebrate Jane’s life is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fraze-Brooks Memorial Chapel, Union City, Ind. Burial will follow at Union City Cemetery. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from noon until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home chapel.
