Nancy Landers (nee Anderson), 73, of Glen Ridge, N.J., passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, after a brief illness. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the O'Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St., Bloomfield, N.J., on Monday at 9 a.m The Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Name Church, on the corner of Midland Avenue and Dodd Street in East Orange, N.J., at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is today and Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Please express condolences at www.oboylefuneralhome.com. Born in Wethersfield, Conn., Nancy moved to Madison, Conn., where she attended Hand High School. She went on to graduate from Connecticut College, and later did graduate studies in her specialty. She was an educator who specialized in teaching young children the joys of reading. Throughout her career that spanned from Connecticut to Germany, New York and New Jersey, Nancy found time to volunteer and actively support her son and daughter in their pursuits as competitive swimmers. She was always willing to serve others. Nancy's beloved grandchildren were a constant source of joy to her. She reveled in their athletic pursuits, their ready smiles and energetic hugs. Nancy was the daughter of the late Pauline and Arthur Anderson; wife of 48 years to James; mother of Christopher and his wife, Stephanie, and Abigail Fox and her husband, William; grandmother of Lauren, Megan, Charles and Thomas, and sister of Caryl. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Abbey Fund, c/o Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C., or the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
