Ms. Evelyn Lee Johnson, 90, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Ms. Johnson is survived by one son, John B. Johnson III (Judy) of Odum; two daughters, Cynthia Lee Morris of Jesup and Gail Johnson (Lynn) of Alamo; four grandchildren, John B. Johnson IV, Erin (Fred) Chalfant, Maurice (Amy) Johnson and Eve (Rusty) Rodgers; four great-grandchildren, Emmi, Tucker, Rhett and Rilyn; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a member of Alamo First Baptist Church, formerly of Statesboro, and an avid gardener. Ms. Johnson was a charter member of Hoe and Hope Garden Club of Statesboro and longtime director of the nursery at First Baptist Church of Statesboro. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 5th, at Alamo First Baptist Church in Alamo with the Rev. Kyle Woodfin officiating. Interment will follow in the Alamo City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alamo First Baptist Church or to The Morris-Slotin Travel Fund, Alee Shriners, Savannah, Ga.
