TALLADEGA - Funeral service for Mr. David Scott Walker, 28, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24 at Usrey Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Rutledge and the Rev. John Whetstone officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Walker died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at UAB Hospital, Birmingham. He was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. He was a member of the Baptist faith, a graduate of Talladega High School where he played football and a graduate of Gadsden State Community College. He was a charcoal drawing artist and loved detailing cars. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Annie Mae Walker; and great-grandparents, Robert and Minnie Tompkins. Survivors are his mother, Angie B. Walker of Talladega; father, James Walker of Talladega; grandparents, Daniel and Shirley Ball of Talladega; fiancee, Whitney Hester of Talladega. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 23 at Usrey. Pallbearers will be Jason Raines, Anthony Hester, Lee Wikle, Jody Owens, Ricky Peters, Joey Hollis, Lee Ferreira, Jeremy Hutton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Riley, Roger Quarles and Christopher Quarles. David passed away at UAB Trauma Center in Birmingham and his family would like to thank all the nurses that made David comfortable. Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.
