Obituary of Mildred-Moss Smith


SMITH, MILDRED MOSS, 86, of Louisville, passed away October 1, 2010. She was born December 2, 1923 in Georgetown, KY to the late William and Lorena Bramblett Moss. Mimi was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always cherished her family, and was blessed with special friends. She was a business woman, establishing Smith's Appliance and Furniture Company in 1960 with her first husband, Arthur K. Smith. Mildred loved her native Kentucky, and also traveled to many countries around the world. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Mildred was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur K. Smith and Walter E. Harden of Campbellsville; and brothers, Grover Bramlet and Frank Moss. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Marlene S. Bajandas; grandchildren, John Bajandas (Natalie) and Laura Arrington, who cared for her; great-grandchildren Olivia, Francisco, and Diego Bajandas; her sister, Louise Wienhusen, her children Karen Corbett and Scott Wienhusen; and two stepchildren, Jan Mitchell and Craig Harden. A celebration of Mildred's life will be Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Ratterman's, 3711 Lexington Road. Visitation will be Wednesday, 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to Home of the Innocents.
