He married Gayla Brelsford there in 1960. They moved to California, then to Corvallis, OR in 1964 where they owned real estate offices until moving to Fort Myers in 1991. Mike worked at Lee County Lands for 12 years. He is survived by his wife Gayla, daughters Michelle Hoyer, Kelly O'Hare, son-in-law Randy Hoyer, grandchildren Nicole Hoyer, Sade O'Hare and Jordan O'Hare, great grandchildren Ladainian and Aaliyah, brothers-in-law Michael Brelsford and Jerry Strasheim, nieces Janna Stevens, Andra Cousins, Rae Ann Wheeler and nephews John, Scott, Jeff and Brad Strasheim. Mike was a life-long Catholic and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. His favorite hobby was helping care for the grounds at the House of Prayer in Alva where there will be a Memorial Celebration of Mike's life on Sunday, November 13 at 2:00, 17880 Cypress Creek Road, Alva. He will be sorely missed by many.
