Michael Charles "Mike, Ferg" Goodwin 1955 - 2006 DARTMOUTH, NS - Michael Charles "Mike, Ferg" Goodwin, 51, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born September 24, 1955 in Moncton, New Brunswick, he was the son of Fraser and Arleen (Stuart) Goodwin, Lorneville. Mike currently worked as bartender at Our Friends Pub in Dartmouth and previously at Shoppers Drug Mart in Cole Harbour and Western Inventory Service. He was a volunteer Marshall at Atlantic Motorsport Park and was a sports enthusiast who especially enjoyed baseball and hockey. Mike will be fondly remembered by many for his knack to set up a BBQ party anywhere and his fondness for his pipe. Mike is survived by his loving wife and best friend, the former Barbara Jean Brandon; daughters, Julie (Mike) Gaudet, Moncton, Andrea Goodwin, Mississauga, Ontario; son, Aaron Goodwin, Halifax; grandchildren, Caleigh, Jacque, Hannah; sisters, Patty (Steven) Snider, Dartmouth, Shelly (Brian) Tanner, Lorneville; mother-in-law, Evelyn (Martin) Kirwin, Embro, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Alex Brandon. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth, where Mike's family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Sunday and from where the Funeral Service will be held 10 am Monday, Mike's cousin, Reverend Robert Chapman officiating. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. A second service will be held 3 pm Monday in the Lorneville United Church, Reverend Steven Longmoore and Reverend Robert Chapman officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, a donation in Mike's memory to Canadian Cancer Society, 1-5826 South Street, Halifax, NS, B3H 1S6 or the Epilepsy Association of Nova Scotia, Medical Arts Building, 306-5880 Spring Garden Road, Halifax, NS B3H 1Y1 would be appreciated.
