Obituary of Maureen-A. Kelly


Abington Maureen A. Kelly, 57, died Sunday, March 9, surrounded by family in her Abington home. Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester and Abington, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Mary E. (Watts) Kelly. Maureen was a resident of Abington for 40 years and attended Abington Jr. High and St. Colettas in Hanover. She attended the Shoe City Contract Company (BAARC) for 38 years and worked 10 years at Johnnies Foodmaster of Whitman. She enjoyed dancing to old Rock and Roll music and was a crossword puzzle enthusiast, but above all, she was The No. 1 Red Sox Fan. She is survived by her sisters, Virginia Frazier of Abington, Rosemary Kelly of Florida, Ann-Marie McDonough of Duxbury and Lois Bluhm of Virginia; her brother, Eugene Kelly of Abington; her nieces and nephews, Traci Maslanka, Kelly Burke, Colleen McDonough, William and Mark Frazier and Patrick McDonough; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jackson and Pressley Frazier and Jason Burke. Her funeral will be held Friday, March 14, at 8:15 a.m. from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 at the rotary), Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in the St. Bridget Church, Abington. Burial will follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, March 13, from 5-8 p.m. Donations may be made in her name to the Brockton Area Association for Retarded Citizens, 1250 West Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301.
