Obituary of Mary-Viola Watson


PELL CITY - Mary Viola Watson, age 82, passed away at her home on April 8, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard C. and Thelma Warlick Brown; brother, Edward Noble Brown; and grandson, Davis Glenn Jr. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lester A. Watson; and children, Betty Lynn Robey (Jim), Judith Ann Glenn (Davis) and Robert Lee Watson (Kim); grandchildren, Jennifer Jones (Howard), Leslie Howard (Geoff), Connor Glenn (Shannon), Mary Robey, and Garrett Watson; great-grandchildren, Wes Jones, Megan Jones, and Liam Howard; an aunt, Thelma Warlick of Talladega; and several nieces and nephews. Vi was a former resident of Talladega and Birmingham, and later relocated with her husband and children to Pell City. Vi was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of St. Simon-Peter Episcopal Church serving in the Episcopal Church Women and Flower Guild for many years. She was also a member and past president of the Pine Harbor Ladies' Golf Association. A private memorial service was held on April 12 at St. Simon-Peter Episcopal Church in Pell City. The Reverend Jeff Garner was the Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Simon-Peter Episcopal Church in Pell City.
