Mary Teresa Keyesof BinghamtonMary Teresa Keyes, 78, of Binghamton, died Wednesday morning, October 8, 2003, at Willow Point Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her son, Charles Keyes. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John R. Keyes, Binghamton; her children, Martin and Cathy Keyes, Stephen Keyes and Lucy Schwarz, Laurie and David Chadwick, Susan and Raymond Bacon, Timothy and Penny Keyes; a daughter-in-law, Doreene Keyes; her grandchildren, Ryan, Amy, Brian, Charlie, Ronald, Daniel, Amber, Daniel, Zachary, Joshua, Chelsea, Joseph, Michael, Lisa, and Abrahm; a sister, Beverly and William Ahern; a brother, James Smith; and a very dear sister-in-law, Blanche Keyes. She was a graduate of Watertown School of Nursing, and was a registered nurse at Binghamton City Hospital. Mary served as 9th District Binghamton City Councilwoman from 1971 to 1978, and was 3rd District Broome County Legislator from 1979 to 1980. The family acknowledges with gratitude the Staff and Nurses at Willow Point and Hospice.Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m., and at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Binghamton, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
