MANCHESTER -- Mary T. (Cook) Mitchell, 61, died Sept. 8, 2008, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Manchester, Feb. 26, 1947, to William and Marion (Moody) Cook. She attended local Manchester schools and graduated from Manchester Memorial High School. She worked at Velcro U.S.A. and Hannaford Supermarket, though her proudest job was being a stay-at-home mom, devoting her life to the raising and well-being of her children and grandchildren. She was a long-time communicant of St. Pius X Church. She was a tremendously giving person, whether through a joke, a gift or a hug. She enjoyed theater, knitting and was proud of her beautiful red hair and Irish heritage. IN HER LIFE: Family members include her husband of 40 years, Dale P. Mitchell Sr. of Manchester; one son, Dale "Jay" Mitchell Jr., of Manchester; three daughters, Patty Ann Mitchell of Manchester, Jodi Emmett Mitchell of Edmonds, Wash., and Kristin Nancy Ayers of Manchester; one brother, Charles F. Cook Sr. of Manchester; three sisters, Patricia A. Maloney of Merrimack, Joyce C. Fournier of Manchester, and Barbara L. Roy of South Carolina. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Emmett J. Foley of Manchester, and two brothers, John W. Cook and William P. Cook Jr., both of Manchester. SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in McHugh Funeral Home, 483 Beech St., corner of Hanover Street., Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Road, Manchester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
