LEGGE, Mary Elizabeth (Bette) 1918-2004 Mary Elizabeth (Bette) Legge (nee Wight) of St. Albert and Calgary passed away at the Youville Home Tuesday, October 26th at the age of 86 years. Bette was born on June 30th, 1918, in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, West Indies and emigrated to Canada with her husband, Godfrey Joseph Legge and their three children in 1955, where they settled in Calgary, Alberta. On their retirement, Bette and Godfrey moved to Vancouver Island. They returned to Calgary where they lived for several years before finally moving to St. Albert. Bette loved the mountains west of Calgary, as well as the ocean near her homes in Saanichton and Sydney on Vancouver Island. She also dearly loved music, and became an accomplished organ player while in her sixties. Bette also loved animals, having had several very spoiled pets very dear to her heart. Bette touched the hearts and lives of many people, and always offered her warm smile and happy nature to everyone she met. Besides her loving and devoted husband Godfrey, Bette is survived by her daughter Daphne Dendy, and her son-in-law Michael Dendy and grand-son Christian, all of St. Albert; her son Gordon and daughter-in-law Gail Klassen and grand-daughter Stephanie Klassen, all of Vancouver; and her son Roger, daughter-in-law Catherine, and her grandsons Sheridan and Brennan, all of Calgary. Bette will be deeply missed by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Youville Home Chapel, 9 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert, on Friday, October 29th.
