Mary Enright O'Keefe of Seabrook, Tinton Falls, N.J., passed away peacefully on July 11, 2014, surrounded by a loving family at her cherished Jersey Shore. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass for "Mrs. Jack O'Keefe" (affectionately known to many as Granmere), which will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at St. Michael's R.C. Church, 252 9th St., Jersey City, N.J. Born in New York City on July 24, 1931, to Michael and MaryAnn (nee Ryan) Enright and the oldest of seven children, Mary graduated from Dickinson High School in Jersey City and spent the majority of her working career at the New York Telephone Company. An avid reader, tireless volunteer and former Allenhurst Beach Club member, she married the late John F.X. O'Keefe in November 1953. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen; her son-in-law, Stephen McCarthy; grandchildren, MaryKate and Kevin; sister, Bertha Griffin; brother, Christopher and Dennis Rivera; brother, Cornelius and his wife, Joyce; in-laws, Robert O'Callahan and Dorothy Enright, as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins in both the United States and Ireland. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan O'Callahan; brothers, James and Richard; sister-in-law, Barbara, and brother-in-law, Francis Griffin. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory can be made on behalf of her nephew, Michael Griffin, to New Lisbon Development Center, Route 72, Box 130, New Lisbon, N.J. 08064, attention: New Lisbon Family and Friends, c/o Jackie Kulsick.
