Untitled MARY ELLEN LAIRD WHALEY 1923 - 2009 Mary Ellen Whaley, 86, matriarch of the Whaley Clan, went on to be with her husband, Horten Earl Whaley, on December 22, 2009. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Horten Earl; parents, John William and Mamie Lou Laird; and brothers, Estle and Emory. She is survived by sons, Michael (Barbara) Whaley, Timothy (Sharon) Whaley; daughter Patricia (John) Barley; brother, Edward Whaley; sister, Annie Mae Lawson; grandchildren, Michael, Shawn, Dylan, Chris; great-grandchildren, Austin and Alexander; special friend and bingo buddy, Sue Blackmon and friend, and neighbor, Esther Green. The family will receive friends for visitation at Oak Lawn Funeral Home from 9 to 10:30am Thursday, December 31, 2009. A graveside service will follow at 11:00am at Barrancas National Cemetery.
