SPRING VALLEY, Calif. Mary E. (Selkis) Davis, 92, formerly of Saratoga Springs, died August 5, 2003 of natural causes at Arbor Hills Nursing Center in La Mesa, Calif. Born on November 27, 1910 in Mechanicville, N.Y., she was the daughter of Helen and George Selkis. Her husband, William J. Davis died in 1983. Mary and her husband operated Davis's Store on Lake Avenue in Saratoga Springs for many years. Mary was known far and wide for her famous baked beans. She is survived by a son, William J. Davis of Clifton Park; daughters Nancy Davidson of Los Angeles, Calif. and Maryanne Kinney of Spring Valley, Calif.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a brother, Vincent Selkis of Tucson, Ariz. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in California. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Saratoga Springs at a later date. Arrangements are by Simone Funeral Home, Inc., 105 Lake Avenue, Saratoga Springs.
