HUGHES Mary Catherine Hughes, 90, passed away September 5, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Cyrus and Doris Turknett on November 7, 1920 in Jacksonville, FL. Mary worked as a local bus driver for over 35 years and was a faithful member of Palm Valley Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Luther, and son, Carl. She is survived by her sons, Earl Hughes (Sandy) and Stephen Hughes (Kathy); daughter, Donna Watson (Chuck); eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Ponte Vedra Valley, 4750 Palm Valley Rd., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, with Pastor Jett Witt officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the interment at Palm Valley Baptist Church.
