AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Friday, July 7, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital, Mrs. Mary Armstrong Maxwell, 73, wife of the late Thomas Ruffin Maxwell. Mrs. Maxwell was a native of Augusta and a member of St. Mary On-The-Hill Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener, a lifetime member of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, member of the Augusta Country Club, Georgia Board of Realtors and a former member of the Junior League. Family members include her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Steve Wagner of Seagrove Beach, FL, Patricia and Rusty Campbell of Augusta, Mary Louise and Robert Beier of Augusta, Catherine Cypress of Augusta, Ann Marie and Jed Menger of Augusta, Julie and Karl Gantz of Augusta, and Susan and Scott Littlefield of Augusta; 16 grandchildren, Jason and Kim Campbell, Katie and Tyler Smith and Meredith Campbell, Sarah, Thomas and Robert Beier, Neal, Ashley and Patrick Cypress, Murphy, Matthew and Hamilton Menger, Elizabeth, Hagan and Caroline Gantz, and Christopher Littlefield; four great-grandchildren, Madison, Parker, Reid Campbell and Jackson Smith; three sisters, Miss Dorothy Williams Armstrong, Frances Armstrong Gwin and Martha Armstrong (Gene) Howerd; sisters-in-law, Mrs. William Jakes and Mrs. T. Allan Maxwell and was preceded in death by her brother, John Luke Armstrong. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary On-The-Hill Catholic Church on Monday, July 10, 2006, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Martino Nguyen Ba-Thong celebrant. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Aquinas High School, 1920 Highland Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904; or St. Mary On-The-Hill Catholic School, 1220 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904. The Rosary will be held at St. Mary On-The-Hill Catholic Church this evening, Sunday, at 7:30 PM. The family will receive friends following the Rosary at the church.
