Mark Stephen "Steve" Davis, 46, passed away February 11, 2010 at Heartland Regional Medical Center as the result of an accident. Steve was born August 15, 1963 in Benton to Eddie & Sandi (Hood) Davis of Benton. He married Dana (Wilson) Davis on February 23, 1995. He was a devoted husband and father who loved nothing more than spending time with his family and the apple of his eye, his Grandson, Macaibe Davis. He enjoyed coaching, fantasy sports, and the watching the Denver Broncos. He is survived by his wife, Dana of West Frankfort; parents, Eddie & Sandi Davis of Benton; son, Shawn Davis & wife, Afton of Green River, WY; daughters, Brook (Davis) Carter & husband, Todd of West Frankfort and Hailee Davis of West Frankfort. Siblings include his twin brother, Scott Davis & wife, Kim of West Frankfort; sister, Penny (Davis) Henson & husband, Mike of Thompsonville; brother, Andy Davis & fiancŽ, Julie Freeman of Benton. Mother-in-law, Leona Wilson of Logan; brother-in- law, Mitch Wilson of West Frankfort and sister-in-law, Kim (Wilson) Meadows & husband, Rodney of West Frankfort. Surviving aunts & uncles include Christine (Davis) Clark of Thompsonville; Jane (Davis) Neal & husband, David of Thompsonville; Denny Davis & wife, Carol of Thompsonville; Kelly Davis of West Frankfort; JT Hood & wife, Charlotte of Rainsville, AL; Gary Hood & wife, Twyla of West Frankfort; Jack Hood & wife, Candy of Leesburg, FL; Jane Ellen (Hood) Jones & husband, Dale of McDonnough, GA.. Surviving nieces & nephews include Jason (Davis) Bush & wife, Catie of Knoxville, TN; Derrick & Jacob Davis of West Frankfort; Quentin & Timmy Henson of Thompsonville; Pari & Oliver Davis and Nick, Darrian, & Lauren Freeman all of Benton; Brittany Meadows of West Frankfort; great nephew, Hudson of West Frankfort. He is also survived by a very special Grandson Macaibe Davis Carter, very good friend Bill Schmidt, as well as many cousins and life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Tom & Margie Hood, Ordell & Velma Davis; father in law Harlan Wilson; and his uncle Mark Clark. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the First Christian Church in West Frankfort. Burial will be in the McCann Cemetery in Thompsonville.
