CALAIS - Marie J. Williams, 91, died Monday, July 28, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. Marie was born Dec. 16, 1916, at Soldier Pond, daughter of the late Bapties and Delmia (Russell) Charette. She served in the U.S. Army Women's Army Corps during Worlds War II. Marie worked for many years as a machine operator at Wareknitters and was a member of Sherman Brothers Post No. 3 American Legion. In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband, Charles Williams; two brothers, Leonard and Antone Charette; and a sister, Irene Vail. Surviving are her four brothers, Bert Charette of Calais, Donald Charette of Conn., and John and Bill Char-ette of Fort Kent; two sisters, Delores Pelletier of Conn., and Rella Theriault of Fort Kent; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will after at Calais Cemetery.
