AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Marian Elizabeth King, 95, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John E. King, her son, Larry King of Douglasville, Georgia, her parents, Herbert and Anna Sanger and a sister Gertrude King. Marian was born on September 19, 1914 in Lowell, Massachusetts. Her family moved to Orlando, Florida in 1919, a trip that took 14 days. Marian taught the Kindergarten Sunday School Class at Trinity On The Hill United Methodist Church for 44 years. She was a homemaker and loved to crochet. Many of her friends have afghans she made for them and everyone will remember her for her Christmas cookies. Mrs. King is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Gary Munn, Augusta; daughter-in-law, Marguerite King, Douglasville, Georgia; grandchildren, Wayne Cobb, Janet Rush, Johnny King and Terri Clark; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity On The Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund at 1330 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, Georgia 30904.
