Margaret H. "Margie" Gregoryof Chenango BridgeMargie Gregory, 92, of Chenango Bridge, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 4, 2003. She was born on July 12, 1911 in Ceasetown, Pa., graduated from Bloomsburg State Teacher's College in 1931 and taught for two years before her marriage. She is survived by Jerry Gregory, her husband of 69 years. She was predeceased by their infant son, John Elmer. Also surviving are daughter, Pat and Oz Winters of Chenango Bridge; three granddaughters, Kelly and Jay Mininger, Pittsburgh, Pa., Kris and Bill Shepardson, Pittsburgh, Pa., Jeri and Jeff Stafford, Chenango Bridge; eight great-grandchildren, Kurt, Tricia and Kaitlin Mininger, Billy, Margaret (Greta), and Harmony Shepardson, Kesondra and Ella Stafford. Margie's loving relationship with God was a wonderful example to all who knew her. Her family and friends were blessed by her love, loyalty, devotion and prayers. She served her Lord through membership at Port Dickinson Community Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, was church historian and a member of American Baptist Women. She was a member of the DAR for 23 years. Her interests were painting, the arts and literature. Margie kept in close contact with friends and family through years of caretaking, phone calls, letters and even e-mail.Funeral services will be held from the Port Dickinson Community Baptist Church, Chenango St., on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Burton Huth officiating and Rev. Judy Wanck co-officiating. Interment will be in the Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements under the direction of Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, Port Dickinson. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a contribution to the Port Dickinson Community Baptist Church.
