MARGARET ELLISON VAN ALLEN CLARKMAY 23, 2011Margaret Ellison Van Allen Clark died peacefully in her sleep on May 23, 2011, at the Presbyterian Homes in Spring Park, Minnesota.She is survived by her daughters, Susan Van Allen Lehrer (Brad) of Redmond, WA, and Lynn Van Allen of Excelsior, MN. Additionally, she is survived by her grandson, Benjamin Lehrer; her sister, Catherine Loughman, of Plymouth, MN; and her nieces, Heather Echert, Helen Berthiaume, Peggy Edmunds, and Katie Slaney. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Norman Ellison, of Bronxville, NY; her sister, Elizabeth Ann Rinehart; and her husbands, Jack H. Van Allen and Edward B. Clark, whom she married after Jack's death.Born in New Rochelle, NY, on July 25, 1921, Margie was graduated from A. B. Davis High School in Mt. Vernon, NY, and she attended Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. After their marriage, Margie and Jack moved to Minnesota, where they lived in Minnetonka Beach and Wayzata for many years. Then in 1973 they moved to Ft. Myers, FL, where she remained a resident, currently living at Myerlee Manor. Margie enjoyed socializing with friends, playing bridge, and watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins, tennis, and golf. She was a member of Whiskey Creek Country Club in Ft. Myers.A memorial service will be held in Minnesota on a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in her name to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers, Florida 33908.
