Murphy, Margaret E. LOVINGTON, N.M. Margaret E. Murphy passed away March 22, 2012. Margaret was born May 19, 1921 in Rochester, N.Y. She attended Nazareth College, and after graduating with a degree in biology, Peg worked at Eastman Kodak Corporation during World War II, until marriage to Charles F. Murphy in 1946. Chuck and Peg eventually moved to Guilderland, N.Y. while Charles worked at the Dormitory Authority until retirement and life on a sailboat, living on the coast of Florida. Peg and Chuck raised six wonderful, loving and successful children, Kathleen, Michael, Thomas, Richard, Eileen and Charles F. Jr.; grandchildren include Erin, Kerry, Michael, Zachary, Jesse and great-granddaughter, Haley. Peg enjoyed a full life of family and friends and always had a kind word and heart for all to hear and see. Many family members and friends including but not limited to Danny and family, Sheila and family, the Healey and Downing families will always recall Peg Murphy's' unconditional love, welcome sign to all of the friends and the dim view she took of the 15 foot roaring bonfires at the camp. Life was spent in shared time with family and friends between the camps in Old Forge N.Y., a home in Guilderland and Florida. Peg Murphy was a communicant of St. Bartholomew's in Old Forge and St. Madeline Sophie in Guilderland. Peg resided in later years with devoted children in New Mexico, including eldest daughter, Kathleen; sons, Michael, Richard and JR in Albuquerque, N.M. and Eileen Robinett in Lovington N.M. where Peg spent her final years. Eileen was the primary entertainer at Good Samaritan for all of the residents and primary care giver and devoted daughter to her mother until the end. Michael Murphy and Eileen were with their mother at the end as she peacefully slipped over to the loving God that influenced her daily life. There will be a memorial service in Old Forge this summer.
