February 18, 2005 Mrs. Maggie Lee Johnson, 75, of Syracuse, departed this life on Friday at University Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Savannah, Georgia to Tom Durant and Mattie Stanley. Maggie attended Savannah Public School. She was a memberof the South Side Church of Christ and worked for the Development Center and the Syracuse School District before she retired. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Stanley and her brother, John Stanley, Jr. Survivors: Her daughter, Geraldine (Tommie) Johnson of Syracuse; sons, Marion (Eugene) Thomas, Edward Sturgis both of Indianapolis, IN, Raymond (Blance) Johnson, Jr. and Christopher Johnson of Syracuse; sisters, Liz Stanley of Syracuse, Willie Mae Bulloh of Savannah, GA, Edis Smith of Chicago, Barbara Stanley of Syracuse, IL; brothers, Mark Stanley of Syracuse, Tom Edward Durant, Roy Lee Durant and Johnnie Bellamy all of Savannah, GA; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
