Barton age 83 passed away on Monday February 18, 2013 at her home in Cedar City, UT after a long struggle with congestive heart failure.Lil was born March 4. 1929 in Beaver, UT to John and Erma Shougard Anderson. She went to school in Beaver, UT and graduated from Beaver High school. She married her sweetheart Clark G. Barton on Dec. 2, 1946 and they were married 63 years before he passed away in 2009. They lived in Clark's hometown of Paragonah for a short time before moving to Cedar City where they raised their 4 children.Lil was very active in her younger years. She and Clark loved to square dance and were members of the Hay Cedars Square Dancing group. She also loved bowling and won many local and state awards.While spending summers at their cabin on Cedar Mountain and winters in Beaver Dam she made many wonderful friends. Lil spent many a day while at Beaver Dam mastering the art of BINGO.Lil worked at many jobs in Cedar including Hugh's Café and the Hong Kong Café. In 1970 Clark and Lil bought the Top Spot Drive Inn where she worked and taught many a girl how to use a mop and bucket until she retired in the late 70s.Lil is survived by 3 of her children: Craig (Ann) Barton, Trudy (Steve) Reber and Kaylin (Paul) Sauer, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband Clark, son Lee, granddaughter, Mandy Reber. She is also proceeded in death by her brothers Paul, Miles, Tom, Bill and sisters Peggy, Donna and Barbara.Funeral services will be held Saturday February 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary in Cedar City. At Lil's request there will be no viewing but family and friends are welcome to gather and pay their respects at the mortuary prior to the funeral from 11:30 to 12:30. Burial will be at the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
