LEONARD JOHN ST. ONGE February 28, 1945 - December 17, 2009 It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Leonard John St. Onge on December 17, 2009. He passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Hospital after a valiant four month battle with Vasculitis. He faced his illness with courage, confidence and a sense of humour to the end. Dearly missed by his wife Shirley, daughter Joye (Todd), son Bob (Marie) and grandchildren Jack, Niyah, Patrick and Avery. Loved and remembered by siblings Micheline (Raymond), Jack (Mary Jane), Claudette (Peter), Kathryn (Tom), Joyce (Bob), Jim (Dawn), Mary (Danny), Kim and Tom; in-laws Joan (Bill), Rietta (Eldon), Carman (Rachelle), Linda (Wayne deceased), Leonard (Lise), Glen (Colleen), Marlene (Patrick); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. We are tremendously grateful for the exemplary care and compassion provided by his family doctor Dr. Eckler, Sharon his very special nurse and the girls at the front Danielle and Nicole. Many thanks go out to the health care workers in Temiscaming, Huntsville and at St. Michael's and Toronto Grace Hospitals who did their best to help him overcome his sudden illness, ensured his dignity and comfort when it was clear that he needed to leave us and who listened and cared. Per Leonard's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements for a spring burial and memorial gathering in Temiscaming, Quebec, will be made at a later date. If desired, in honour of Leonard's devotion as a father and 'Gramps', memorial donations may be made to a children's charity of your choice.
