CARIBOU - Leatha June Wilson, 90, died July 22, 2011, in Van Buren. She was born June 22, 1921, in Caribou, daughter of Harry A. and Pearle E. (Hanson) Churchill. Leatha was employed at J.C. Penney Co., Caribou, for 24 years until her retirement in 1983. She attended Gray Memorial United Methodist Church. Leatha was an avid reader, and loved playing card games and doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by a sister, Christina Lavway of Presque Isle; several special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, including David Lavway, Rick Churchill, Larry Turner, Diane Hemphill, Velva Doody and Joyce Doody; and sisters-in-law, Una Churchill of Florida and Eunice Bothwick of Calais. She was predeceased by two brothers, Allen and Ervine Churchill; and two sisters, Adeline Plissey and Catherine Turner. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday, July 25, from the chapel of Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with Mary Lou Brown officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Leatha may do so to Central Aroostook Humane Society, 24 Cross St., Presque Isle, ME 04769.
