HARRIS, LAURA LOUISE STOKES, age 98, of 70 West Lucerne Circle, Orlando, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2003. Born September 5, 1905 in Atlanta, GA, to the late Robert and Laura (Hall) Stokes, she moved to Orlando from there in 1938. She graduated from North Avenue Presbytery School for Girls, and attended the University of Alabama where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Mrs. Harris was employed with American Federal Savings & Loan and a member of First United Methodist Church of Orlando. Mrs. Harris was a charter member of the Jefferson Davis Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, which was founded by her mother. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Orlando Day Nursery. She is survived by her sisters, Carolyn Dannelly of Orlando and Marion Nabell of Valdosta, GA; brother-in-law Col. Frank P. Dannelly of Orlando; nieces Lynn Syansberry of Orlando; Jeannie Grow of Valdosta, GA; nephews Tom McCollister of Atlanta, GA and Bob Nabell of Tallahassee, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sydney B. Harris, Jr. Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will be held at 11AM today, December 29, 2003 in the parlor of First United Methodist Church of Orlando with Rev. Jeremy Rebman officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor immediately following the service. A private interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando. Services entrusted to COLLISON'S HOWELL BRANCH FUNERAL HOME, 3806 Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, 407-678-4500.
