Obituary of Laura-Evelyn Owen


OWEN Laura Evelyn Owen of Fairfield, wife of the late Donald Owen, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2006 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Leonard and Edith Greene, she had been a Fairfield resident since 1945. Mrs. Owen worked in the offices at Stanley Works in Bridgeport and later worked as an instructional aid for the Fairfield Board of Education. She was a volunteer for many years at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield. She will be fondly remembered for her love of cross stitching and her yearly Christmas decorating in September. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy E. Owen and Guy Hays of Derby and Randy Russo and her husband, John, of Bridgeport; a sister; a brother; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Greene Jr. The family will greet friends on Thursday, April 6, 2006 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, 25 Third Street, Suite 410, Stamford, CT 06905 or to The Connecticut Humane Society, 455 Post Road, East, Westport, CT 06880.
